Kenya Color Photography – Wildlife & Landscapes
A curated portfolio of wildlife, landscapes and travel moments from Masai Mara, Amboseli and Kenya’s other remarkable parks, photographed in rich, natural color by Gabriel Haering.

Each image in this Kenya portfolio carries a story – of patient hours on the plains, sudden changes in light, and quiet moments shared with wildlife. Below are a few encounters that left a lasting impression.

First Light over the Mara

On one of my first mornings in Masai Mara, low clouds threatened to swallow the sunrise. I chose to stay with a small pride of lions, trusting the light. For a brief two minutes, the clouds opened and the savannah turned pure gold, revealing the male’s mane glowing against the grass.

Elephants and a Vanishing Mountain

In Amboseli, Mount Kilimanjaro can disappear within minutes. We waited with a breeding herd of elephants while the peak hid behind a grey curtain. When the wind finally shifted, the mountain emerged just long enough to frame the elephants in a single, quiet composition.

Cheetah on the Termite Mound

Photographing cheetahs ethically means respecting their need to rest and scan for prey. I kept my distance and used a long lens as this female climbed a mound to look for gazelles. The elevated angle and clean background created a portrait that shows her elegance and tension in equal measure.

Storm Light on the Plains

Some of my favorite Kenyan images were made when the weather looked “too bad” for photography. Heavy rain over part of the plains, a sliver of sun breaking through and distant herds moving against the darkness turned a simple landscape into a dramatic, layered scene.

If one of these Kenya images resonates with you, it may be available as a fine art print or for licensing through my main website. There you will find details on papers, sizes, pricing and usage options.

For photographers who wish to experience Kenya in person, I also guide small‑group photo safaris, focusing on generous time in the field and respectful wildlife encounters. Kenya is often combined with neighboring countries to explore different ecosystems and styles of photography.

When you get in touch, feel free to mention the Kenya portfolio and, if possible, the subject or mood you are interested in (for example “storm light over the Mara” or “Amboseli elephants at dusk”).

You can also explore other country portfolios such as Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe to see how Kenya fits within the wider African work.
